First delivery of steel to Mare Island

Mare Island Rail Service "MIRS" provided delivery of the first four gondola cars of steel to a Mare Island Industrial Park tenant earlier this week. The steel will be processed, containerized and shipped overseas from the Port of Oakland. MIRS has met with the Port to explore opportunities for Mare Island Industrial Park. MIRS expects to receive shortly its first boxcars of sugar for short term storage and transload to a local chocolate factory. MIRS offers land and water transportation service as well as both indoor and outdoor storage on a number of plans.
