KEPRTV: Tri-City rail company seeking identity of hit and run truck


TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- A driver pulling a boat was caught on camera hitting a railroad crossing arm at Van Giesen and 240 says the Tri-City Railroad Company, and they want the public's help in identifying the suspect truck. The company says on Friday, August 21 around 11 a.m. a driver in a silver pickup pulling a boat was seen passing through and hitting a railroad crossing arm. The company says they have seen an increase in this type of incident and encourage all drivers to remain attentive and alert when driving. Tri-City Railroad Company is seeking the public's help in identifying this person. They say due to the direction the truck was traveling they believe the suspect may be a West Richland resident. The cost of the crossing arm repair can be substantial Tri-City Railroad Company says, and it can put their crossing out of service until they can fix the arm. That railroad crossing could be out for hours, days, or even weeks the company says.
