Preferred Freezer Services Breaks Ground on Third Chicago Facility Company keeps pace with increased

Chatham, New Jersey (March 23, 2016) – Preferred Freezer Services (PFS), a global leader in advanced design and engineered temperature-controlled warehouses, celebrates ground-breaking in Chicago, Illinois. The new facility will be the company’s third in the Chicago area and its thirty-sixth in the United States. The Chicago III facility will satisfy demand for modern and efficient cold storage warehousing services in the competitive metropolitan Chicago market.

The new facility, scheduled to open in the spring of 2017, will be located at the intersection of S. Blue Island Avenue Drive and S. Wood Street near the intersection of S. Damen Avenue and Interstate 55. The completed facility will cover 227,043 square feet, stand 58 feet tall, and have a storage capacity of more than 32,000 pallets. The warehouse will consist of three rooms that will have multi-temperature capabilities as well as meat services such as blast freezing and USDA inspection services.
